    Better than expected, beautiful tone

I on several ukuleles, from a humble Honer found in pierces in the crawl space of my grandfather’s house. A 1963 Kamakantenor that belonged to my father, and a Kamala tenor along with several others. I also have several classical guitars as well. I have always wanted something with a range between Small Pepe and the Tenor Kamala. When I saw the baritone it spoke to me. When it arrived I inspected the fit and finish and am very pleased with the teak body. After tuning, I was pleased with unamplified sound and played for a short while. I have smaller that average size hands yet found cording and even finger picking easy. My only issues is the frets lack a round off on the edges and I will need to accomplish this in the future.

In all I am very pleased and will add this to my collection ( see first picture) as a daily player and will be making a hard shell travel case. Great work! The second is of my two Kalas.

    Decent ukulele

I like it. Once I changed the strings it began to sound pretty nice. The G string tuner was a little rough but I lubed it and it sounded better. Plugged in it’s really good. For an inexpensive baritone uke it’s not bad.

    Teak Barotone

I was looking at tenor size ukes, but needed wider fretboard for my finger size. Settled on the this baritone model which is much easier for me to play.

The ukulele is well built, looks and sounds good but overall tone is a little less "full" than I expected. The built-in EQ works well but sound is more muffled than bright and warm, which I find the norm for this type of pickup. Love having the onboard tuner.

The unit arrived with a noticeable buzz on the top D string in the first four frets, so I returned it for repair/setup. The return process was handled extremely courteously and professionally, and am currently waiting to receive my baritone uke back to get started playing again.

Besides this minor setback, a friend recommended Kala brand to me and I will certainly recommend the same for anyone looking for a quality brand ukulele, supported by professional and accomodating sales and service.

    My first ukulele

I have played guitar for many years but this is my first ukulele. Seems well built and the tone is great! Very happy with my purchase.
